Video game console and Nintendo Essay Example for Free
Video game console and Nintendo Essay In the world of video games, Nintendo has been a household name for nearly three decades. After all, it was one of the pioneers of home video game consoles with the Nintendo Entertainment System in the early 1980s. It continued as the market leader with its Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64 systems. But in the mid-1990s, all that began to change. Along came Sony with its Playstation and Playstation 2, and Microsoft introduced the xBox. Before long, Nintendo was reduced to a fraction of its former glory, running a distant third in a highly competitive market. What happened? In certain respects, Nintendo fell prey to the industry model that it had created. More advanced technology led to the creation of more powerful gaming consoles, which in turn paved the road for more sophisticated games with more realistic graphics. As each new generation of product hit the market, Nintendo found that it could not keep up with more technologically advanced rivals. While more than 120 million Sony PS2s became fixtures in homes, apartments, and dorm rooms around the world, Nintendo moved just slightly more than 20 million GameCubes. As the most recent generation of gaming platforms from the gaming industryââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"big threeâ⬠came to market, many industry insiders figured Nintendo was destined to continue its downward path. Sonyââ¬â¢s PS3 and Microsoftââ¬â¢s xBox 360 were so advanced that it looked like Nintendo was due for another drubbing. Oh what a difference a couple of years makes. For Nintendo, everything is now coming up Super Mario Bros. ââ¬Å"flowers. â⬠Last year, revenues and profits were up by 73 percent and 67 percent, respectively. In the last couple of years, during a time in which the Nikkei Stock Average fell nearly 25 percent, Nintendoââ¬â¢s stock price tripled. In fact, Nintendoââ¬â¢s stock price rose so high during 2007 that its market capitalization exceeded that of the Sony Corporation. On that measure alone, Nintendo became the second largest corporation in Japan, trailing only Toyota Motor Company. How did this struggling number three player go from product loser to product leader in such a short time? FROM PRODUCT LOSER TO PRODUCT LEADER Most people probably donââ¬â¢t know that Nintendo was founded way back in 1889. Obviously, Nintendo did not make video games back then. It began as a playing cards manufacturer. But it also found success in hotels, packaged foods, and toys. When it came time to revive itself as a veteran in the video game industry, Nintendo did something that it had done time and time again. It focused on customers to find true opportunities. For the video game industry, ââ¬Å"the customerâ⬠typically means one of two groups: the 18 to 35-year old hard-core gamers and the children/teenagers. The industry earns most of its revenue and profits from these core consumers who spend a great deal of time and money enhancing their virtual skills. Over the years, as hardware became more sophisticated and games more realistic, these tech junkies were all the more pleased. In the process, Nintendo watched its revenues slide and its rivals strengthen. It realized that it could not compete against technologically superior products. So when it set out to develop the Wii console, it didnââ¬â¢t even try. Instead, it focused on something the others were ignoring. It set its sites on the masses. ââ¬Å"Nintendo took a step back from the technology arms race and chose to focus on the fun of playing rather than cold tech specs,â⬠said Reggie Fils-Aime, president and COO of Nintendo of America. ââ¬Å"We took a more intuitive approach and developed something that could be fun for every member of the family. â⬠298 Part Three | Designing a Customer Driven Strategy and Mix placed on a separate scale. The light bulb went on as Sawano thought about the possibility of tracking a userââ¬â¢s shifting weight on a game pad as they shimmied and twisted their way through virtual worlds. That game pad is now called the Balance Board and lies at the heart (or rather the foot) of the Wii Fitââ¬â¢s portfolio of exercise applications. Users can do aerobic, strength training, balancing, and yoga exercises all in realistic virtual settings. ââ¬Å"It is now possible to go beyond the fingertip controls of past games and now use your whole body,â⬠Sawano told a crowd of game developers. The Wii Fit also facilitates exercise programs as it tracks and analyzes individual performance over time as well as keeping track of stats like weight and body-mass index. Perhaps the most promising part of the Wii Fit is not that it continues to broaden an ever-growing market segment. In addition, the Balance Board component has the potential to be integrated into a nearly limitless number of applications. Already, Nintendo has developed ski jump and slalom games. Itââ¬â¢s only a matter of time before Nintendo develops a Balance Board version for just about every sport imaginable. Releasing hit after hit, Nintendo has vaulted to the top of the Wall Street Journalââ¬â¢s latest Asia 200 survey. Placing first in the ââ¬Å"Innovative in Responding to Customer Needsâ⬠category, the company placed second overall, trailing only Toyota. For a company that hadnââ¬â¢t placed in the top 10 since 2002, the sudden turnaround is a telling demonstration of consumer confidence. For the Wii, this meant that Nintendo had to do more with less. The Wii boasts a humble combination of low-powered processors and a standard optical disc drive. Compared to the powerful, state-of-the-art chips and high definition lasers contained in the PS3 and xBox 360, the Wiiââ¬â¢s graphics are out right scrawny. But at the core of the Wiiââ¬â¢s broad appeal lies a revolutionary motion-sensing wireless technology that forces the once sedentary gamer to get up off the couch and get into the game. The Wii controller resembles a television remote. This feature was no accident as Wii designers correctly speculated that the familiarity of a TV remote would be more inviting than the more typical and complex video game controllers. The Wiiââ¬â¢s basic software also allows users to custom design avatars from a seemingly infinite combination of characteristics. With this configuration, users play tennis, go bowling, and hit the links by swinging the controller like a racket, ball or golf club, all with characters resembling themselves. The Wii met with immediate and drastic success. Entering the market after the release of the xBox 360 and the PS3, Wii consoles flew off the shelves. Not only did the Wiiââ¬â¢s contain an enticing combination of features, it also had a cost advantage. Microsoft and Sony had priced their offerings in the stratosphere. And even at $599 for the top and most popular PS3 model, Sony was still losing hundreds of dollars on each unit that it sold! Nintendoââ¬â¢s low-tech approach allowed it to earn a hefty profit and be the low-price leader at only $250. With such a favorable benefit-to-cost ratio, the Wii easily won the launch phase, outselling each of the two competing consoles by nearly two-to-one in the first few months . 9 Chapter CXXXX 43550 Page 298 08/15/08 MD SECURING THE FUTURE Although the success of the Wii has largely been attributed to attracting non-traditional gamers, hardcore gamers have hardly been absent. In fact, many of the industry faithful saw the Wii as a relatively cheap second gaming platformââ¬âas a nice diversion from more graphic-intensive games. The Wii also has the nostalgic advantage of appealing to the gaming elite with characters they grew up with, such as those from the Mario and Zelda franchises. But developers and executives at Nintendo are not content to sit back and risk having hardcore gamers lose interest. Part of Nintendoââ¬â¢s future strategy includes games focused on more serious gamers. CEO Satoru Iwata shocked the industry last year when he announced that Nintendo would soon add games from two Sony allies: Capcomââ¬â¢s Monster Hunter series and Square Enixââ¬â¢s Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. The release of these titles will do more than appeal to traditional gamers. It will elevate the Wiiââ¬â¢s image from that of a machine with little firepower to one that will run the industryââ¬â¢s most advanced games. Said one game industry analyst at a tradeshow sneak preview, ââ¬Å"Itââ¬â¢s symbolic. I didnââ¬â¢t think the Wii could handle this type of game. Everyone in the room today saw that it can. â⬠As Nintendo has successfully attracted an untapped audience of gamers over the past few years, it has done more than revive its business. It has transformed a market. The competitors that once trounced Nintendo now find that they must play catch-up. Both Sony and Microsoft are now developing easierto-play games that depart from their usual fast-action fare. Game publishers, including powerhouses such as Electronic Arts Inc. , have started putting more resources into developing games for the Wii. And even small, independent shops are getting into the action as Nintendoââ¬â¢s download channel reduces barriers to entry. All this is causing an already huge $30 billion industry to swell. NOT JUST A FAD Although the Wii was an instant smash hit, many analysts wondered whether or not its appeal would hold up. That speculation began to subside when retailers were still having trouble keeping the Wii in stock more than a year after it was introduced. In its first 18 months, Nintendo moved more than 24 million Wiis. Even though the xBox 360 had been on the market a full year longer, it had sold only 19 million units. And Sony, once the undisputed industry champ, placed only 12 million PS3s. Nintendoââ¬â¢s willingness to reinvent what a video gaming system can mean continues to drive Wii sales. For example, the Wii can scan weather, news, and Web sites through a wireless Internet connection. Through the Wii Shop Channel, an iTunesstyle store, customers can download classic Nintendo games as well as games from independent developers. But in its pursuit to break gaming boundaries, Nintendo has also relentlessly pursued new applications for the basic motionsensing technology. A plastic rifle contraption allows users to realistically play shooting gallery games. Snapping the Wii controller into a steering wheel has made driving games all the more electrifying. And tiny in-controller speakers add touches like the sound of an arrow being shot while the TV makes the ââ¬Å"thwackâ⬠of that arrow hitting its target. But perhaps one of the greatest strokes of creative genius in Nintendoââ¬â¢s continuing stream of new applications is the Wii Fit, an add-on device targeted directly at women wanting to lose weight or keep in shape. The idea for the Wii Fit came to Takao Sawano, general manager of development for Nintendo, as he watched sumo wrestlers being weighed in for a television match. The tubby athletes were so heavy that they had to have each foot Company Cases Chapter 9 | New-Product Development and Product Life-Cycle Strategies 21 299 Chapter 3. In which stage of the product life-cycle is the Wii? Based on that stage, is Nintendo employing good marketing mix strategies? Simon Jeffery, president and COO of Sega of America, summarizes why Nintendo has been successful and why the rest of the industry must keep up. The fundamental interface in games has always been a controller, and Nintendo is bringing opportunities to developers to think about how interactions use motion. That has opened doors of creativity throughout the video game business. Nintendoââ¬â¢s success is about creative leadership and the willingness to do things differently. As long as Nintendo can stay focused on these elements that have returned it to its throne, it will reign for a long time to come. 4. Develop a strategy for the Wiiââ¬â¢s next product life-cycle phase. 5. Discuss the potential threats to Nintendoââ¬â¢s future success. What will help Nintendo avoid a premature decline for the Wii? Utopia Essay -- More Philosophy Perfect Society Essays
Utopia The text Utopia was written by Sir Thomas Moore in 1516, just before the outbreak of the Reformation. Moreââ¬â¢s life flourished through the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries, which were influential years in the Renaissance, a flowering of art and thought that began in Italy and flooded through Europe and England. Humanists often stressed the dignity of man and the power of reason while remaining deeply committed to Christianity. Their thought and writings helped to break the strict religious orthodoxy that had forced itself through the Middle Ages. Humanists often argued against feudalism as it promoted a society dominated by the rich and unfair on everyone else. Further, they saw feudal society as irrational. Utopia was originally written in Latin, is a text that depicts what is claimed to be an ââ¬Ëidealââ¬â¢ human society through the eyes of the narrator Raphael Hythloday. It is also largely based on the voyages of More himself, specifically to the Netherlands. It was one such voyage ââ¬â a diplomatic mission from England ââ¬â that More invented his ideas about a Utopian society. However, while More may have visualized the Utopian Islands as a perfect society, it is inarguable that the utilitarian society of Utopia was a criticism of the European world he saw around him. Thus, it is important for the readers to understand and respond to the specific time. There are many ways to view the utopian society; some may view it as the result of rational thought or Humanist beliefs, others as an alternative to feudalism, a statement in favour of communal society, or an effort to promote reform according to Christian values. The book Utopia is composed of two parts ââ¬â the first written last, and the second written first. The second book is the one in which the utopian society is portrayed and the issues raised closely represents the thinking of humanist Erasmus. The first part of the novel serves as an introduction to the two main fictional characters of the novel ââ¬â More and Hythloday. It debates reasoning as well as social critique. Hythloday cannot stand the inequalities and injustices on the existing England and Europe and reveals possibilities for reform using his example of a Utopian society. The second part is written through the eyes of Hythloday and his explanation of the Utopian society of More. It serves as an improvement for wher... ...hey do nothing in return but forgive seems highly unfair, and demonstrates an assumption of superiority in the men. Given the gender situation in the sixteenth century under which women were subservient to first their father, then their husband. However, women in Utopia can become priests, and this would have been a shift from More's generation. Even in modern society, the Catholic Church does not allow female priests. This is one example where Utopia implies the ignorance of gender, offering females a chance at equality. Utopia is a depiction of a semi-ideal society and all of the criticism of European society that ideal represents, and it is a explanation on itself and its themes. The book can at times be inconsistent, just as More himself could: a man who preached religious toleration and logically mistreated Protestants, decides to remain a Christian rather than enter the priesthood but ultimately died a willing victim for his faith. Ultimately, Utopia is a book that, like More, attempted to navigate a course through the ideal and the real, between a want to create perfection and the practical understanding that perfection, given the imperfection of mankind, is impossible.

The Evolution of Interior Design
The Evolution of Interior Design Question: Discourse the work James Stirling ; Norman Foster ; Ettore Sottsass ; Richard Rogers ; David Hicks ; Philippe Starck. Post- Modernism period is from the1950s to 21th century. Post-modern manner leading at 1970s influenced today architecture and merchandise design even in writing design. Apart of influence to architecture design, it besides has civilization, literature, art, doctrine, history, economic sciences, architecture, fiction, and literary unfavorable judgment. Post-modern manner make more same manner edifice in the universe appeared. Post-Modernism makes local features and traditional design fade out. Nowadays architecture and urban landscape are excessively deadening and no particular point. However architecture industry appears immature interior decorators and immature designer groups that try to alter and develop the Post-Modern manner edifice mentality. That occurred revolution of the architecture industry. Classical, Modern and Post-Modern architecture are simple definition. We can see every metropolis established the architecture by utilizing of the geometric. The geometric construction is the most popular manner. These thought had been given from Bauhaus. Bauhaus is influenced to modernism architecture largely. The modern architecture it is non excessively much ornament. The stuff and functional architecture is a modern manner characteristic chiefly. Until now, the Post-Modern architecture is non merely about aesthetic. Meanwhile Post-Modern architecture the feature is focus in environmental protection. Besides that, we can establish the Post-Modernism return to classical manner in architecture and furniture design. I will present several most of import Post-Modern Architects and Designers. James Stirling he is Architect in British. He designed the History Faculty Library, Cambridge, completed in 1968. He was a led in Post-modern motion of import individual. In Italy Ettore Sottsass is a interior decorator. Graduated with a grade in architecture but some of his iconic plants is a merchandise design Typewriter Valentine. Richard Rogers is a British designer. He corporate with the Italian designer Renzo Piano Designed the Pompidou Center in 1971-77 in Paris. The Centre attack is hi-tech. David Hicks is an Interior Designer. He strongly introduced Color and Graphic such as colliding colourss and geometric form rugs. He pioneered a mix and lucifer old-timer with the modern pieces. There are two of import individual will be discussed in below. They are most popular designer Norman Foster and Designer Philippe Starck at today. First allow us discourse Norman Foster, Norman Forster is a Post-Modernism hi-tech iconic designer interior decorator. He is worldwide celebrated designer. He is a star in architectural industry besides he won many of the universe category architectural awards. He is one of the universe ââ¬Ës major designers. The Gale Group Inc ( 2004 ) point out that ââ¬Å"Called the ââ¬Å" hero of high-tech, â⬠his architectural signature is a design that opens a edifice up to the populace, is aware of the environment, and saves money by utilizing modern stuffs and advanced technology.â⬠HSBC Bank is a most popular bank In Hong Kong. Besides Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation ( HSBC ) Headquarters. Looking edifices around in Hong Kong Central the architecture is still most modern, even though it was established in 1985. That architecture is a British designer Norman Foster design. In fact, his celebrated designed Huge Financial Commercial Building and Airport Terminal. In 1986s Hong Kong, we all know HSBC Building Hong Kong designed by him the edifice manner is hi-tech. Structural of steel parts was manufactured in United Kingdom. Glass, aluminium outer frame and flooring was manufactured in America. Component installations were manufactured in Japan. The edifice architecture design construction is non internal support. All back uping constructions was located outer frame of the edifice and free remotion. And glass frontage designed to do the best usage of natural visible radiation. The land floor anteroom door is toward north South, winter maintain cool in the anteroom, it save air-conditioning costs. The High-tech architecture is besides known as Structural Expressionism. That constructing gives him celebrated in the international architecture industry. At 1998s Hong Kong International Airport Terminal besides designed by him. That made him well-known in arc hitecture industry. At 2013s, he designed Kai Tak Cruise Terminal in Hong Kong. In add-on Hong Kong International Airport Terminal and Hung Hom Station were close to the same design. At the same clip at Beijing, China 2003 ââ¬â 2008. He designed Beijing Airport. The exterior of the Beijing airdrome expression like similar to Hong Kong International Airport. That is Norman surrogate manner I would state. Although, the airdrome is look like excessively similar of mentality. But we if carefully analyze for that architecture. We will happen some differences and interesting is come from the Beijing airdrome architecture design. Norman Forster is non merely merely using technologically improved to airport edifice. He is really intimate design for in footings of rider experience. The terminal itââ¬â¢s used surging aerodynamic on the roof. And so the roof Imagination signifier Chinese firedrake signifier and Chinese colourss red. It is so symbolic for China. Norman Foster designed for maximal flexibleness to care with can non cognize in future of the air power industry. It is deciding the hereafter complicated air travel. The Beijing Airport Terminal that interior spacial lucidity uniting with high service criterions. As for public conveyance, the airdrome edifice connect are to the full integrated all sort of transit. Passengers are non walking excessively long distances arrive finish. He suggested shorten distances of the route for flights. It can be made transportation times flights are minimized clip. Beijing airport terminus is like to Hong Kong International airport terminus. The construct is both of the unfastened position to the exterior. Particular comment, the Beijing airdrome merely four old ages can be design and built that airdrome terminus. David McManus ( 2015 ) point out that ââ¬Å"The terminus edifice is one of the worldââ¬â¢s most sustainable, integrating a scope of inactive environmental design constructs, â⬠Mr. Foster he really good usage the fanlight. The fanlight can be gain from the Sun visible radiation. Iââ¬â¢m holding he is ââ¬Å" hero of high-tech â⬠. His great usage high engineering for himself design construct. Mr. Foster has alone architecture system and signifier. If no Hong Kong International Airport design and build experience. I think Beijing Airport can non complete within four old ages of design and built that airdrome terminus. I would state he is architect of hi-tech male parent. What is this? UFO can be doing an orange juice or lemon juicy? The UFO allow me conceive of that merely a micro-sculpture is non holding functional. But that merchandise is a citrus squeezer. That might be one of his best-known plants. This citrous fruit squeezer Iconic symbol of Philippe Starck and produced by Alessi. Philippe Starck is celebrated Product Designer, Industrial Design every bit good as designer. He is astonishing interior decorator in my head. His feature is the focal point on different countries of the design. His plant is from high budget of the architectural design to smaller plants of the toothbrush merchandise. He is really originative in all design. Such as designed of the computing machine mouse for Microsoft, every bit good as redesigned new packaging for Beer Brand. Philippe Starck design normally use different stuff mixed such as glass and rocks or plastic and aluminium combine. His about celebrated design works in 1990 Juicy Salif. That Juicer looks as a Rocket Launcher that is designed for Italian Brand Alessi Housewares. The most well-known is the 1984 Paris Cafe Costes. In add-on, the Asakusa Tokyo Asahi Beer Tower, Hong Kong Peninsula Hotel Felix saloon. His interior design manner keeps in classical or old manner and assorted with the modern-day stuff. That his attemp t is design for every organic structure Philippe Starck with Baccaratââ¬â¢s signature ruddy crystal pendent lamp redesigned. He adds black crystal and lined with aluminium on the pendent lamp. The name is ZENITH NOIR it is neoclassical historical manner. He likes to alter the historical manner utilizing new modern stuff renew. Another iconic and great design is ghost chair. The chair is best Sellerss today. That is neoclassical historical manner. He redesigns the classical chair was used by crystalline polycarbonate stuff. The chair used by crystalline stuff, it will be unseeable in the inside has no chair consequence, that consequence is so interesting. Philippe Starck in 2014s cooperates with RIKO. RIKO is a wooden buildings company. The undertaking name is a Prefabricated Accessible Technology Homes short name is PATH. We are populating in a modern age ; the PATH house has been given populating with nature for homo. The PATH house design construct is come from future. Uniting high engineering, comfy, sustainable, dateless design and regard environment. The PATH thought is come from Philippe Starck. But he is inexorable that PATH house design its does non used a Starck manner. The house building is utilizing Aluminum and Spruce Wood. The house exterior is utilizing aluminum stuff. This stuff is good for insularity consequence. Indoor interior design is utilizing dapper decor. Overall for the house, his design is included coordinating, renewable energy power coevals, solar panels, air current turbines, geothermic systems, and rainwater aggregation system. It will be installed on the roof. It can be greatly reduced by more than 50 % of ecological technology. That house design is a Philippe Starck breakthrough his design thought. Philippe Starck design is in usage the historical elements really good. Even the PATH house design is non Starck manner but we if carefully analyze for that house. We will establish the house is a Roman ionic order transforming of the lift. He is my favourite interior decorator for me. In decision, I think Norman Foster has influence to architecture travel to hi-tech tendency and systematisation buildings. He is leading the High-tech architecture functional edifice and environmental protection constructing popular development motion. Today design manner influence modern-day designer and have High-tech outer frame manner use. Philippe Starck has influence to modern-day stuff and renaissance classical or old manner design blending use. Beyond the Post-Modernism and design regulations. His astonishing design manner inspires a new coevals of designer and interior decorators what is originative and multitasking of design think.Reference List: Muschamp, V. ( 1992, June 26 ) . Man without a Memory – Clive Wearing
During the learning process information is encoded, then stored and retrieved once needed. The sensory organs receive information from the environment and are stored for a very short period within the sensory cells, by giving attention to this information it is sent into the working memory/short term memory. Information in short-term memory can be held there indefinitely as long as it is rehearsed, and the typical cause for its loss is that it is displacement by the presence of other, new information that has been attended to.Once received in the working memory/short term memory the information is encoded in our long-term memory by rehearsal or constant repetition of the information. When we need this stored information for future purposes, it is retrieve by recall or recognition. Clive Wearing, the man with no memory, has an unusual case of memory loss in which he is unable to form lasting new memories. Clive Wearing contracting the herpes viral encephalitis that affected his nervou s system and resulted in him has retrograde and ante-retrograde amnesia.Ante-retrograde amnesia means he is unable to form memory of events that have taken place after his illness; he also suffers from retrograde amnesia, which refers to him being unable to remember places, things and events before his illness means he is unable to store memory. The hippocampus and sections of his frontal and temporal lobe are damaged due to the infection. The hippocampus which transfers short-term memory to long term memory is damaged due to the viral infection that affected his nervous system. With this said an account could be given of why he is unable to store new memories. His memories only last between 7-30 seconds and are therefore only being stored in his short-term memory. Once the 7-30 seconds expires, he cannot recall what he had just experienced or learned. This results in him not storing any new memories during his daily life. Even thou Clive Wearing is unable to form new memories he sti ll has lasting memory of his wife and playing the piano. The fact that he can do this is evidence that different parts of the brain stores different types of memory. The assumption is that the section of his brain responsible for procedural memory (memory of habits) is not damaged hence his ability to playing the piano.

The latter would enable them to address the challenges faced by the professionals in the field and their daily routines. Also, it is a step in countering the goals set by the organization. However, this is not the case since not all the organizations value the role that the human resource management would play and the benefits that come with its acceptance into the business. The research will focus on how human resource management can aid in developing competitive advantage, particularly when aligned with a firmââ¬â¢s competitive tactic. I will further contest how Human Resource Management policies influence employeesââ¬â¢ skills and motivations by contrasting two different companies and providing analytical examples to exemplify the various standings (Mazurek, 2015). The research will also seek to illustrate contradictory statements and why HRM policies fail by providing summaries to demonstrate each effect. The terms used at present in this paper include HRM referring to Human Resource Management The efficiency of a firm depends significantly on the abilities of employees to work on a common goal and the efficient utilization of resources. Employee Performance Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3000 words
Employee Performance - Essay Example The situation has not been this way for a long time; until the last century, their existed an autocratic organizational system where the word of the top management was considered the last word. Their existed an environment where no emphasis was paid on the rights on employees and their needs. In order to properly defend the statement, one needs to look into the reasons for these developments that have been mentioned in the statement. Post-modernism is a concept that is deep rooted in history and is one of the fundamental reasons of the development of the recent organizational structures, bureaucratic environments and empowered employees. A discussion regarding how modernism started would first require understanding what existed in the pre-modernist era. The need for post modernism has been rooted deep in the history of mankind. It was first used in 1914 to describe the changing mindsets of people against the society prevailing at that time. Then came in modernism which gave people an escape from the normality and let people question their beliefs and creativity was fostered. However, it gave rise to modernity or bureaucracy. Bureaucracy usually uses rules and guided procedures in order to accomplish their tasks and depend on the predictability of events. They give no space to the unpredictably of life. In management terms, this would mean that there is task continuity prevalent in organization practicing bureaucracy and people would be subjected to strict rules and norms, repeated preprogrammed tasks and would be provided with stable and probable environments where homogeneity exists between the goods and services offered. Post modernism was a reaction to the modernistic ideas. Post-modernism largely is defined by the age in which there was intellectual growth, cultural enhancement, and development of an artistic state without the boundaries and restrictions of the hierarchies( Frederick, 1984). Post modernism stated that there are no clear cut and defined lines to a central successful organizational principle. It negated the aristocratic or the central hierarchy system and paved way for a more people oriented idea to organization development. Development of post-modernism was a result of the changing times and environment as well. It helped in almost all the disciplines of modern era. Post-modernistic ideas helped in the development of architecture, law, culture and literature. It heavily influenced the marketing and management fields of science as well. The management scenario changed completely with the advent of this idea in the society (Tim, 1999). The main focus would be kept over management and marketing practices because of the topic at hand. Post-modernism can be best explained as an era where nothing is certain and nothing is impossible. There are endless possibilities waiting to be grasped and countless situations in which a man can find himself. However, it has its share of criticism as being meaningless when it came to evaluating mathematical structures. Many people also argue that the era we are living right now is the post-postmodern condition. GLOBALIZATION Globalization is another important factor that gave rise to the post-modern conditions of today. Globalization by definition is turning personalized or localized phenomena's into
